What to wear
Tee shirt and shorts are fine, a leotard if you have one. (See below)
Clothing should be comfortable and have some stretch to allow the gymnast a full range of movement.
We do not allow gymnasts on the equipment if they have clothing with zips, poppers, buckles or other metal or sharp parts which may damage the equipment surfaces.(e.g. jeans)
Tops with thin shoulder straps or low necklines are not suitable and tee shirts should be able to be tucked in when going upside down.
Bare feet are usual, the Gym is carpeted with most of the floor, sprung. Some gymnasts wear lightweight gymnastic slippers for work on the trampette or beams/benches. Socks may slip on the trampettes, beams and benches.
Strictly NO JEWELLERY, rings, braclets, necklaces etc. in accordance with British Gymnastics guidelines.
Strictly NO PIERCINGS, these should be removed before the session and kept safe by a parent.
Club leotards and shorts
The Club carries a stock of the blue girls and boys leotards and shorts. These are available to purchase but they do NOT have to be worn. Any leotard is acceptable. Many gymnasts, particularly older girls, feel more comfortable if they can wear shorts and this is encouraged.
From time to time, a sale rail is present in the Gym for a couple of weeks, with the opportunity to buy 'end on line' or last catalogue leotards at reduced prices. This will be in June (At the annual display weekend!) and just before christmas.
See Mrs Brooke or Peta for these.
Club Fleece zip-up Jackets
A ClubFleece, embroidered with the Club name, is available and is normally available within a short time.
Please check with Peta for these.
Club Polo Shirts
Blue Club polo shirts, embroidered with the Club badge, are normally available from stock.
Again, please see Peta for these.
Current prices for Club items are displayed in the Gym.
